Basic Principles and System Composition

Basic Working Principle

This device focuses on mechanical locking, pressure‑bearing sealing and safety pressure relief. It automatically switches between wellhead closed protection and oil fishing operation to realize anti‑theft, blowout prevention and vandalism resistance.
Locking & Protection Principle
Driven by a special tool, the lock cylinder drives the internal anti‑dismantling claws/locking blocks to form radial/axial mechanical locking with the wellhead flange. Without the special tool, disassembly and prying are impossible, achieving anti‑theft, vandalism resistance and misoperation prevention.
Sealing & Pressure‑bearing Principle
The mating surface between the device and the wellhead flange adopts metal‑rubber composite sealing. Under well pressure, the seal is automatically compressed, bearing a maximum pressure of 21 MPa to prevent oil‑gas leakage and blowout.
Oil Fishing Operation Switching Principle
After unlocking with the special tool, the protective main body can be quickly opened or rotated aside to expose the wellhead, without affecting the running of oil fishing equipment and normal pumping operations. After operation, it is reset and locked again.
Safety Pressure Relief Principle
Built‑in pressure relief passage/valve allows automatic or manual pressure relief when downhole pressure rises abnormally, avoiding pressure‑induced leakage or rupture and ensuring wellhead and personnel safety.

Basic Principles and System Composition

Installation Procedure

Clean the sealing surface of the wellhead flange to ensure no debris or damage. Hoist and align the protection device with the 165 mm wellhead flange. Tighten the connecting bolts evenly to ensure firm installation and reliable sealing. Check the locking mechanism and pressure relief device to confirm normal operation.

Opening Procedure Before Oil Fishing Operation

The operator uses a special unlocking tool to align with the device opening interface. Rotate the tool in the specified direction to release the internal mechanical lock. Open the main body of the protection device to expose the wellhead operation channel. After confirming the channel is clear and normal, run in the oil fishing equipment and start operation.

Closing & Locking Procedure After Oil Fishing Operation

Pull out the oil fishing equipment and clean the wellhead and device sealing surfaces. Reset the protection device and fasten it in place. Relock using the special tool and confirm effective locking. Check for no leakage and looseness to complete wellhead protection.

Abnormal Pressure Safety Relief Procedure

When the downhole pressure rises abnormally, the built-in pressure relief structure of the device activates automatically. Release pressure slowly to prevent pressure buildup, leakage and splashing. After the pressure returns to normal, check the device status and restore protection.

Routine Inspection Procedure

Check the flange bolts, housing and lock cylinder for looseness or damage.
Inspect the sealing parts for leakage and the pressure relief mechanism for proper function.
Confirm reliable protection locking and complete the inspection record.
