Types and Characteristics of Equipment
Type
Drilling rig
The drilling rig is the core complete set of equipment for oil and gas drilling operations, mainly composed of eight major systems: hoisting, rotation, circulation, power, transmission, control, base, and well control. It can perform functions such as rotating to break rock, circulating to wash the well, and raising and lowering drilling tools. It can be divided into various types according to the driving method, drilling depth, and application scenarios, and is a key piece of equipment for completing drilling construction.Features

Basic Principles and System Composition
Basic Working Principle
The drilling rig is powered by a central drive. The rotary system drives the drill bit to break rock, the hoisting system controls the raising and lowering of the drill tools, and the circulation system pumps drilling fluid to cool the bit and remove cuttings. Combined with the well-control system, this ensures safety and enables continuous drilling operations.
Overall System Composition
Power System: Provides power for the whole machine, commonly using diesel engines, electric motors, etc.
Rotary System: Drives the drill string and drill bit to rotate and break rock, including rotary table, top drive, kelly, etc.
Hoisting System: Responsible for raising and lowering drilling tools and controlling drilling weight, composed of winch, derrick, crane, traveling block, and hook.
Circulation System: Realizes the circulation and purification of drilling fluid, including drilling pumps, mud control equipment, manifold, etc.
Well Control and Monitoring System: Monitors operations and prevents blowouts, including driller's console, blowout preventer stack, and safety interlock devices.
Basic Principles and System Composition
Installation in place: Complete the installation and commissioning of derrick, drilling rig, well control, and other equipment, and prepare for drilling. Drilling: Power drives the drill bit to rotate and crush rock, gradually drilling downwards in a controlled direction. Circulating mud: Pump drilling fluid to cool the drill bit, lubricate the drill tools, and bring rock cuttings back to the surface. Tripping to change drill bit: Pull out the drill tools to replace worn-out drill bits, check and repair the drill tools to ensure continued operation. Lowering and re-drilling: Lower the drill tools to the bottom of the well, restore rotation and circulation, and continue deepening the wellbore. Well completion and cementing: Lower casing and pump cement to seal the formation and ensure safety for future production.
