Type

Benzene is classified by source, purity and substituent type, each with distinct characteristics and clear core commonalities, as follows: Petroleum Benzene: Derived from crude oil catalytic reforming and ethylene cracking by-products, with high purity (≥99.9%) and large output, it is the mainstream industrial type, used for large-scale aromatic synthesis. Coking Benzene: Derived from coal coking by-products, with low purity (95%-98%) and many impurities, it needs to be refined before use, mostly used in low-end chemical fields. High-Purity Benzene: Purity ≥99.95%, extremely low impurity content, used in high-end fields such as pharmaceutical intermediates and electronic chemicals. Industrial Benzene: Purity 99.5%-99.9%, meeting the needs of ordinary chemical production, used in dyes, pesticides, solvents, etc.

Features

Basic Working Principle

Production Principle: The mainstream is crude oil catalytic reforming method, using naphtha as raw material, generating benzene through dehydrogenation and cyclization reactions under the action of catalysts; the secondary is ethylene cracking by-product recovery method, separating and purifying benzene from cracked gasoline.  Application Principle: Using its aromaticity and chemical activity, it is used as a raw material for synthesizing aromatics such as toluene and xylene, or as a solvent to dissolve organic substances, and can prepare various chemical products through substitution reactions.

Overall System Composition

Composed of four units: production, storage, transportation and application, working together to ensure stable production, safe storage and transportation, and efficient application.  Production Unit: Including raw material pretreatment, catalytic reforming device, rectification separation device; Storage Unit: Special sealed storage tanks for separate storage; Transportation Unit: Explosion-proof and corrosion-resistant pumps, special pipelines to prevent leakage; Application Unit: Reaction kettles, blending devices, with supporting tail gas treatment.

Basic Principles and System Composition

Follow the standardized process of "Raw Material Pretreatment → Production and Processing → Storage → Transportation → Application → Safe Disposal", as follows: Raw Material Pretreatment: Dehydrate and remove impurities from naphtha (or cracked gasoline), send to production device after passing inspection. Production and Processing: After catalytic reforming (or separation and purification) and rectification, qualified benzene products are obtained, which are sent to the storage unit after passing inspection. Storage Operation: Store in a special corrosion-resistant sealed storage tank, control temperature, do a good job in explosion-proof, anti-static and anti-toxic measures, and store separately. Transportation Operation: Transport with explosion-proof and corrosion-resistant pumps and special pipelines, control flow and pressure, and strictly prevent leakage. Application Operation: Put into reaction or blending according to process requirements, turn on ventilation and tail gas treatment devices, and do a good job in protection during operation. Safe Disposal: Recover residual/waste benzene, standardize treatment of leaks, and do a good job in equipment maintenance and site ventilation.
