Features

Characteristics: Simple structure, convenient operation and high reliability, suitable for vertical wells, shallow wells and medium-low pressure oil and gas wells; mainly composed of gate valves, throttle valves, pressure gauges and other basic components, with low cost and easy maintenance. It is the most widely used basic Christmas tree, suitable for shallow mining projects in emerging oil and gas producing areas such as Tanzania. Characteristics: Strong pressure-bearing capacity (pressure grade ≥35MPa), excellent sealing performance, suitable for high-pressure and high-yield oil and gas wells; made of high-strength alloy material, corrosion-resistant and impact-resistant, capable of withstanding the impact of high-pressure oil and gas downhole. It is mainly used in high-pressure oil and gas fields such as the Middle East and Russia, and is the core equipment for deep oil and gas production. Characteristics: Compact structure and small space occupation, suitable for the wellhead layout of horizontal wells and deviated wells; adopts eccentric design, which is convenient for running downhole tools and operation, with stricter sealing performance, effectively preventing oil and gas leakage. It is suitable for the production needs of deep horizontal wells and shale gas wells in Russia, the Middle East and other regions. Characteristics: Integrates intelligent monitoring and remote control functions, can collect real-time parameters such as wellhead pressure, flow rate and temperature, realize remote start-stop and flow adjustment, and reduce manual operation; suitable for automatic and intelligent oil and gas production projects, can be linked with the Internet of Things system to improve production efficiency and safety. It is the preferred equipment for upgrading high-end oil and gas fields in the Middle East and Russia.

Basic Working Principle

The core principle of the Christmas tree is to control the oil and gas produced downhole to be smoothly exported from the wellhead through components such as wellhead valves and throttling devices, and at the same time realize the adjustment and control of pressure and flow rate; ensure wellhead sealing through sealing components to prevent oil and gas leakage, and respond to abnormal situations such as wellhead overpressure and overflow through safety devices, ensuring that the oil and gas production process is safe, stable and controllable.

Overall System Composition

The Christmas tree system is composed of four categories of components: wellhead connection components, control components, safety components and metering components. All components work together to form a complete wellhead control system: Wellhead Connection Components: Casing head, tubing head, flange, cross, used to connect downhole casing, tubing and the main body of the Christmas tree, realize wellhead fixation and oil-gas shunting, and are the installation foundation of the Christmas tree. Control Components: Gate valve, throttle valve, globe valve, used to control the opening, closing and flow adjustment of oil and gas, are the core control unit of the Christmas tree, and can flexibly adjust the wellhead output according to production needs. Safety Components: Safety valve, relief valve, blowout preventer, used to respond to abnormal situations such as wellhead overpressure and overflow. When the wellhead pressure exceeds the set value, it automatically relieves pressure or closes to ensure the safety of wellhead operation. Basic Principles and System Composition

The operation process of the Christmas tree is carried out around four stages: wellhead installation, commissioning, production and maintenance. The operation is standardized and the process is clear, adapting to industrial large-scale oil and gas production. The core process is as follows (Chinese-English comparison): Installation Preparation: Inspect the integrity and sealing performance of each component of the Christmas tree (valves, flanges, seals), clean the wellhead connection surface, and prepare installation tools and sealing materials; ensure that the components are not damaged, the seals are intact, and meet the requirements of the wellhead pressure grade. Wellhead Installation: First install the casing head and tubing head, fix and seal the casing and tubing; then install components such as cross, gate valve, throttle valve and safety valve in sequence, connect and fasten the flanges, ensuring that all connections are tightly sealed without leakage. Commissioning and Testing: After installation, conduct a pressure test to detect the sealing performance and pressure-bearing capacity of each component; debug the flexibility of valve opening and closing, the accuracy of metering instruments, and test the pressure relief sensitivity of the safety valve to ensure that all components operate normally. Normal Production: Open the control valve, adjust the throttle valve to control the oil and gas output flow rate and pressure; real-time monitor the wellhead parameters through metering instruments, record production data, and flexibly adjust the valve opening according to production needs to ensure stable transportation of oil and gas to the surface gathering and transportation system. Daily Maintenance: Regularly inspect the valve opening and closing status and the integrity of seals, clean impurities at the instrument interface, and calibrate metering instruments; inspect the operation status of safety valves and relief valves, and timely replace damaged seals and valve components to prevent oil and gas leakage. Shutdown and Overhaul: When the equipment fails, has seal leakage or needs to be shut down for maintenance, close all control valves, relieve pressure and vent the wellhead oil and gas; disassemble the faulty components for maintenance or replacement, reinstall and debug after maintenance, and resume production after passing the inspection.
